Preparing for Valentine's Day: Outfits
With just a week left until Valentine's Day, Pinterest is becoming filled with pink, red, and sparkles. This adorable illustration by Inslee got me thinking of some different color block outfits to wear for Valentine's Day or any other special occasion!
Although, some may think it is a bit much, I love pink and red worn together. The look is pulled off best when the pink and red are the same hue but different tints. You never want to mix a purpleish pink with an orangeish red... it just does not look good together! Here are some outfit ideas for the big day...

31 Rue Cambon
In the heart of Paris at 31 Rue Cambon lies the home of Coco Chanel. Recently, The Coveteur did a story on the breathtaking apartment, and it is truly amazing to think of what all happened within these four walls. The apartment spans four floors. On the street level is the Chanel store, above that on the second floor are the haute couture dressing rooms, on the third floor is her apartment, and on the fourth floor is her workshop. Some say some of the best views of Paris are from the rooftop of Chanel's building.
The chandelier below features interlocking 5's and C's:
Chanel designed the suede couch, which was cutting edge at her time, since people used mostly silk or velvet.
The gold boxes on her coffee table were gifted to Chanel from the Duke of Westminster. They were gold on the inside but not on the outside to symbolize the idea of hidden luxury. "Luxury is not something you have to showoff, only you know it is there." ~ The Coveteur
This famous set of stairs was designed by Coco herself. They wind from the first to the fourth floor, so Chanel could stand in one place and see what was happening on every floor.
"During the fashion shows, which took place down stairs, Gabrielle Chanel would sit on the staircase. Thanks to the mirrors she could see everything taking place, but no one could see her. She wanted to know the immediate reaction, if the journalists and clients were pleased with the collection."
~The Coveteur
Finally, the famous store front with Chanel's signature black block letters and white background that we all recognize today. Chanel was a woman of class and luxury.
An inspiration to us all...
A thought for today...

Now and Later: Tibi Spring 2013
So many new clothes, shoes, and accessories are making their way into stores for the Spring 2013 season. Unfortunately, the weather has not quite caught up, and it is still too cold to wear most of the new pretty Spring items. One of the collections I am loving for Spring is the Tibi collection. The Basketweave V-Neck Dress caught my eye, because it would be such an easy dress to wear out and put some fun accessories with. Also, the neutral colors of the dress allow it to easily make the transition from Winter to Spring. Below I put together two outfits to wear with it; one for colder weather and one for when it warms up a bit!
